Let’s talk about process hazard analysis training! As a result of headlines like “Toxic materials released in Bhopal, India”, “Explosion in Mexico City”, and “Explosion in Norco, Louisiana”, in the interest of preventing future industrial disasters and saving lives, OSHA created the Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHCs) standard 29 CFR. 1910.119.

That standard is intended to prevent or minimize the consequences of a catastrophic release of toxic reactive flammable or explosive HHCs from a process. The purpose is to help reduce the loss of life and property from a chemical incident disaster.
