Let’s talk about fire safety training. Workplace fires and explosions kill 200 and injure more than 5,000 workers each year. Fires wreak havoc among workers and their families and destroy thousands of businesses, putting people out of work and severely impacting their livelihoods.
Fire safety becomes everyone’s job at a worksite. Employers should train workers about fire hazards in the workplace and about what to do in a fire emergency. This training should outline the assignments of key personnel in the event of a fire and provide an evacuation plan for workers on the site.
